Resolute Engineering Joins
Internationally Recognized Group Focused on CCUS

TULSA, OK – Resolute Engineering is proud to announce its membership in the Plains CO2 Reduction (PCOR) Partnership Initiative, led by the University of North Dakota Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC).

PCOR Partnership members focus on making safe, practical carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) projects a reality. The PCOR Partnership was established in 2003. It is one of 4 regional carbon sequestration partnerships that are funded in part by the U.S. Department of Energy. Currently, the PCOR Partnership covers a region across the middle of the United States, including 10 states (Alaska, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Wyoming) and 4 Canadian provinces (Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan).

The PCOR Partnership, which boasts a membership of over 200 public and private sector stakeholders in power generation, energy exploration and production, geology, engineering, the environment, agriculture, forestry, and economics, has been assessing opportunities for carbon storage and working to resolve technical, regulatory, and environmental barriers to storing CO2. Members of the group provide data, guidance, and practical experience. The PCOR Partnership and its members have also worked with policy makers and the public to help them better understand the opportunities, strategies, challenges, and benefits of carbon management.

“The PCOR Partnership is at the forefront of solving the energy industry’s most complex and pressing issues -- carbon capture and management. It has been responsible for stopping millions of metric tons of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere,” said Taylor Lagorin, Resolute Engineering Vice President of Business Development. “The impact from each of the PCOR Partnership projects will be immense, and Resolute is beyond excited to be a part of this solution.”

Resolute President and CEO Wayne Lagorin agrees. “The work this group is doing is of great significance. They have been doing research into carbon capture and sequestration options and implementing demonstration projects over the past several years, with tremendous success. Right now, there is a big demand on the oil and gas industry to step up its efforts to limit emissions, on an individual company basis and as an industry. We are certainly proud to be a part of finding a solution to this challenge.”

Resolute Engineering’s extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, in particularly the team’s experience in pipeline design and engineering, and an in-depth knowledge of critical demands and regulations that must be addressed and adhered to during the design, construction, and maintenance of all types of energy projects make the company a good addition to the PCOR Partnership group.

“Our experience in midstream oil and gas makes us a strong resource for the group, not only in looking at the viability and planning for a project but also in the execution and implementation of the infrastructure,” said Taylor Lagorin. “Being a PCOR Partnership member shows that Resolute is here to support not only the PCOR Partnership but also the rest of our clients as our industry navigates a large push toward sustainability and carbon management.”
